Japan National Team Supporter Songs & Chants

Every major song of the Blue Wall: what it's set to, when it's sung, and the stories behind them. Learn these and you're never a stranger in the away end.

Sing along, properly: these chants were written by supporters, for anyone willing to join in, so we print them in Japanese with romaji underneath and credit the people they came from. The one exception is the official released anthem, which we link instead. For the full Japanese setlist, J-Chant Navi is the definitive fan archive.

What this page covers

This guide covers the common Japan national team supporter chants: when each is sung, where it came from, how to pronounce and join it, and what it means on a matchday. Names and words are given in romaji with the Japanese alongside, so you can learn a chant on the train and sing it that night.

Three Chants to Learn First

Short, wordless-or-nearly, and built to be joined mid-song:

Before all of it comes Kimigayo, the national anthem, and after all of it comes the roar. Hear a fuller taste of the atmosphere on our About page, and check when you can sing along next.
