It's official. Takehiro Tomiyasu is a Crystal Palace player. The Japan defender, whose Arsenal contract was ended by mutual consent last December, spent the second half of last season on loan at Ajax while working back from injury, then earned this move on the back of a successful trial, coming off the bench in a preseason friendly against Al-Ula. He signs on a free transfer and takes the number 17 shirt. He reunites with fellow Samurai Blue man Daichi Kamada at Selhurst Park, and gives Moriyasu one more center back with a Premier League home to call on heading into the fall friendlies.
